Here are 10 tips to help you be a successful fundraising salesperson. Asset labels and id tags sell themselves because it is a service everybody needs, but few people know about.
Everyone that learns about our service, they have two reactions. First, “I’ve never heard of that before”. The second thing say is ‘I lose stuff all the time’, followed by a an account of the last time they or someone they know lost something. Anytime you bring up the idea, there will be someone around who thinks it’s a great idea. And that – my friends – is why a lost and found recovery service is so easy to sell. Here are 10 tips to make the sales process go smoothly:
1. Don’t wait to start selling even if you have 3 or 4 weeks. Procrastination is any salesperson’s enemy.
2. If you wear your organizations uniform or cap it will earn the trust of those you approach! You’ll be amazed how much this can help.
3. SMILE! People like people who smile, even if they’d never let you know.
4. Attach your free label or tag to your own cell phone and keys and register them so you can show people how the service works!
5. It’s a good idea to start with your family and friends. They are always willing to help you the most.
6. Be confident when you talk about the lost and found service. Because this is such a unique service, most people are going to listen to what you have to say.
7. Always say Thank You (even if someone doesn’t buy a label or tag).
8. Set aside the days and times you will be able to sell and plot your sales territories.
9. Make sure you turn in your orders on time and print clearly.
10. When the orders arrive, make sure you contact everybody on your list and make arrangements to deliver them immediately. Your customers will be excited to hear from you!
